I normally do a recap of my weekend and any random things I feel are worth sharing, but not a ton happened to me this weekend. Why is that? Most likely because I slept a LOT of this weekend trying to catch back up after my crazy WPPI adventures! I don’t think I’ve ever felt jet lagged before, but daylight savings time started while I was three hours away, we hardly slept at all the entire trip, and I flew home on a red eye…so I think I was feeling just a little tired;)

I am really bursting at the seams to share my Vegas experience with you guys. It was seriously more than I could have ever imagined it would be…more what? More EVERYTHING. More emotional, more fun, more spiritual, etc. Just more.

I had an amazing time from start to finish and that’s largely thanks to the incredible group of people that I spent time with all week. I have a few WPPI/Vegas tips I’ll share later on, but for now the biggest one is to really seek out good people to spend your time with. All of my lunches and dinners were with a group of talented photographers who never really even talked about photography…we talked about our hearts and all of the things that are holding us back…all of the reasons we don’t believe in ourselves and all of the reasons that we should. We shared SO much more than food…even though there was plenty of that to go around too.

So this weekend I had to decompress from so much more than just being tired…but from being on this crazy/awesome roller coaster ride of emotions as well. One of the first things I did when I woke up from a nap on Friday after getting home was to sit at my computer and write down my feelings in a journal. I NEVER WRITE IN JOURNALS, PEOPLE. I think I feel like they are a little narcissistic? Or maybe I just like to keep my secrets inside instead of putting them on paper…All I know is that I started to feel my experiences leaving me and becoming memories and I wanted to make sure I never forgot exactly what I was feeling so the only thing I knew to do was write it all down.

This week on the blog I have a TON to share…I have an engagement session, my wppi recap, a guest post that I didn’t post last week (it’s really valuable info I feel like I need to make sure is shared!!), and some pictures from my trip into the desert with some of my new friends!

(Also, I am feeling really under the weather today, so I will be taking a half day…I will do my best to answer all emails this morning and tomorrow afternoon!)
