A Case of the Mondays #17

I think the older I get, the more I realize there is so much to be thankful for every single day. Yesterday I had the sudden realization that I am SO thankful to be able to be a full time wedding photographer… I’m always thankful for the opportunity to do this for a living, but sometimes when things get really stressful, I start to forget how thankful I am, and start to take things for granted. My weekend was really busy and this next week (along with the next eight weeks or so) is going to be cray cray. But I’m so thankful for that, because at the end of the day, being busy means that I am lucky enough to have booked a bunch of amazing couples. Being busy means that I’m able to feed my cat and pay my car payment for another month. Having a lot to do is a good thing and I’m thankful for each minute of it! I’m making a conscious decision to ACTIVELY be thankful for each hectic minute!

My friends, (some old and some new) made this weekend great. John and I went to Cinebistro (which is such an awesome movie going experience) on Friday and saw Pain and Gain. DO NOT SPEND MONEY GOING TO SEE THIS MOVIE. OR WASTE YOUR TIME VIEWING IT AT ALL. I didn’t like it. Not one bit. I guess part of that is my fault for not researching what it was about before we went, but I didn’t realize it was a comedy based on a true story about some really gruesome crimes that happened in Miami in the 90s. We just thought it was Marky Mark being a bodybuilder. And the Rock playing himself, as usual. The song Thrift Shop is in the commercials for crying out loud. I honestly didn’t think it was appropriate or funny to make light of such awful crimes (the real life perps are on death row right now) and thought it was pretty sexist and in bad taste. This is coming from someone who loves dumb, somewhat raunchy humor like 21 Jump Street and the original Hangover. But then again, Pain and Gain is a Michael Bay movie, so I’m not sure why I expected anything else. Have you guys seen anything good in the theaters lately?

The rest of the weekend flew by! I second shot on Saturday, spent the day in Richmond on Sunday, and now all of a sudden it’s Monday again. It seems like there’s some kind of magic trick that happens only on weekends that magically makes time between Friday night and Monday morning go by twice as fast as it normally does.

I actually kind of hope this week goes by fast…because Stephen and Jessie are getting married this weekend and I’m really excited! And I get to see Band of Horses next week!

I’ve been on an Oatmeal squares kick lately. They are so good and they give me an excuse to eat out of a cute bowl!

Wow, I love those pictures at the end… so simple, just beautiful. Thanks for the warning about that movie- it sounds awful. 🙁 I’m waiting for Great Gatsby to come out as my next theater excursion!
