A Case of the Mondays #2

January 14, 2013

I don’t know why, but waking up today was even harder than it was last Monday…it’s the second Monday of the year and my second Monday back at work…you’d think I’d be getting the hang of it by now! I think maybe it was the nice weather yesterday…now I have a SERIOUS case of spring fever and there’s pretty much nothing I can do about it, but hope that spring comes soon! Fingers crossed:)

So this is kind of random and off topic, but did anyone else watch the Golden Globes last night?? My first two observations were that: premium cable shows should be judged in different categories than network cable shows like Modern Family and Nashville, which are really good for what they are, but could never really live up to a premium cable show because they can’t GO THERE like a premium cable show. And they can’t show nudity, which is apparently what HBO really stands for (haha). My other thought was that all of these celebrities are at these dinner tables all night…YET THEY NEVER APPEAR TO BE EATING DINNER. They’re drinking champagne all night and eating Godiva chocolates. I would be so mad if I got to the Golden Globes expecting lobster and found out the tables were all for show. I guess it’s good that it’s not likely that will ever happen:)

While we’re talking about TV…HOW ABOUT THEM RAVENS??? I was so anxious watching this game I kept switching back and forth to other things to try and calm my nerves. What a miraculous win though! I’m really looking forward to the AFC championship next week because it’s going to be an exact rematch of last year’s AFC championship…only the WINNER is going to be different!  Sidenote: how cool would a Harbaugh vs Harbaugh Superbowl be?? Ravens vs 49ers??

I’m really excited about this week coming up…it’s going to be a busy one, so I’m going to get a few things done here in the office and actually take the majority of today off. Tomorrow I’m meeting a fellow photographer/possible second shooter and travel buddy, and I’m really excited about it! I really love spending time with other photographers! In a lot of ways they could probably be considered my competition, but I don’t see it that way…I see them as colleagues and friends!

Also, I took a break from shooting this past weekend, but I can’t post a blog post without pictures (it just goes against principle!!) so here’s a couple of pretty things from Jeremy and Tiffany’s wedding that I second shot with the amazing Sarah Der this past September!

I absolutely agree with the TV Series issues! HBO can do things that cable networks can’t – – plus, because there are no advertisers, no commercial breaks, and it’s a pay-to-view service – I feel like they have the ability to do so much more creatively and to push the envelope! Awesome point!

  2. Well I am bummed my Packers are out of it and so is Wisconsin’s Russell Wilson- so I guess I can manage cheer for the great Ray Lewis one last time… 😉

I agree about the Cable Shows vs Prime Time Shows. I also felt some of my favorites were completely snubbed this year. American Horror Story?? HELLO?!?! Truthfully I didn’t watch, were Tina Fey and Amy Pohler funny? 😀

omg the globes were SO GOOD! Tina & Amy were AMAZING!!!

  5. Katie Jane says:

I am with you on the network vs. cable thing – they should get their own categories because it’s just not a level playing field.

  6. Omg, I wondered the same thing last night?! Where was the food. Then again I imagine it wouldn’t be very flattering to pan over to Meryl Streep chomping on a steak. haha!

  7. LOL i am cracking up at your commentary – sadly i didn’t watch the golden globes, but i totally would have thought the same thing.
