A Case of the Mondays #3

Whew. I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I’m glad it’s a three day weekend, and I’m giving myself today off to rest! I’m still worn out from this past weekend, which was just so much fun, but a little overwhelming!

It all really started on Thursday…I rode out to DC with a few friends to attend Justin and Mary’s What’s Next tour stop. If you didn’t go, you missed out! Seriously. I left with so much to think about…my head has been spinning and I haven’t had a chance to sit down and really look at my notes yet! I had such a great time meeting new people, hanging out with friends, and soaking up so much goodness from Justin and Mary! I didn’t make it home from DC until 4:00am Friday, but it was SO WORTH IT.  Sidenote: jokes are never funnier than on a late night road trip fueled by McDonald’s and sour patch kids. Don’t try to replicate them to your husband the next day. It could get REALLY awkward.

Friday I was in Richmond again…by now I feel like Richmond is my second home! I hardly need my GPS there anymore and things are becoming easy for me to find! Is that an awkward fact? Or is that cool? Anyway, I got to hang out with a bunch of other photographers that I really love and learn about the new PASS! Some of my 2013 clients have already seen how awesome PASS is! And the rest of you are going to get to experience it this year too. And believe me when I say the new version is THE COOLEST THING EVER. One of the features is being able to save your pictures AS AN APP ON YOUR IPHONE. WHAT??? I was seriously considering making a PASS gallery of my own wedding pictures just to make an app of my wedding on my phone! And my wedding was almost two years ago! Ha!!

Saturday I woke up at the crack of dawn (literally) to drive to Alexandria for a sunrise engagement session. I LOVE shooting in the morning. The light is so pretty and the atmosphere is so much more calm and peaceful than it is in the late afternoon…morning engagement sessions are also a great idea if you’re shooting somewhere that is really busy, like Old Town Alexandria…it’s deserted in the morning so you don’t have to fight crowds! I’m always pretty nervous that I’m going to be exhausted before a sunrise session, but somehow I must be getting some kind of adrenaline rush before them, because they always end up being my favorite sessions!

After conquering three days on a total of approximately 13 hours of sleep, I celebrated with You’ve Got Mail and hot pretzels and cheese from Buffalo Wild Wings as my dinner on Saturday night. SO GOOD. To kind of wrap up my long weekend recap, here’s a peek at Samantha and Vernon’s engagement session, which will be on the blog later this week!

ONE LAST THING BEFORE I GO…I have to mention THE RAVENS GAME LAST NIGHT!!!! I am so proud of my team and SO EXCITED THEY ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL! I mean THE HARBOWL!!!! YES!!!! Also, congrats 49ers fans on your win yesterday too! BUT YAY RAVENS!

  3. Sarah says:

If you could summarize the what’s next tour from your own personal experience how would you try to encourage others to go? (I’m in NY so I could travel to NYC for it but idk!)
Oh and PASS? I’m lost! haha.

From your two photos your couple is absolutely cute and her smile is stunning! What a lovely morning session!

    • I would say go!! It was really inspiring and made me feel so motivated to take on 2013! It was definitely more of a motivational/inspirational type of talk, but I feel like that’s just what I needed! It was so worth it! Oh and PASS is a cloud image storage system…if you go to what’s next you’ll get a preview of the new version! But you can also email me if you want more in depth info on PASS in general:)
