A Case of the Mondays #9

March 4, 2013

So, it’s March now, but if you walk outside, it feels colder than ever! What’s up with that?? Didn’t the groundhog say that spring was coming early? I’m ready for it!

This past weekend was so much fun! I was actually in DC all weekend with my friend Anna. She had a wedding in Northern Virginia that I second shot at on Saturday. I don’t really have the time to second shoot often, but I love to second shoot for her when it works out:) Second shooting is also fun to do every once in a while because it inspires me to shoot from different perspectives. I feel like I’ve been in kind of a rut lately artistically, so it was nice to be able to stretch myself and do some more creative things I wouldn’t normally do.

Sunday I spent the day in Georgetown. My sister’s birthday was Saturday, so I met her for brunch at Clyde’s, where I had the most delicious croque madame and possibly the most overpriced mimosa ever. Serena of Love by Serena met up with us too and we had the most wonderful afternoon just wandering around the shops, drinking coffee (actually tea in my case), and talking about everything! I loved meeting Serena and I’m so excited she’s also going to WPPI!

Some random things:

  • Annamarie’s grandparents let us stay at their house overnight on Saturday. They are SO ADORABLE. Her grandpa made me hot chocolate and showed me their vacation albums and made lots of funny jokes. I love how welcome they make me feel when I stay with them!
  • Urban Outfitters apparently doesn’t have shoes in half sizes before size 8…so their sizes are basically: 6, 7, 8, 8 1/2, 9, 9 1/2. WHAT? So sad I missed out on owning the cutest pair of mint flats because of this.
  • I now own two cat shirts. I’m really lucky I’m married already because I’m THIS close to being the crazy cat lady.
  • When you start eating healthier, you really DO feel better. I didn’t realize how much better I’d been feeling lately until I woke up today with a food hangover from yesterday:( BLAH.
  • The best part of this weekend was really coming home to John and Lucy. I’m a homebody and I miss my two bffs terribly when I’m away from them. When I finally got there, they had a clean apartment and fresh flowers waiting for me!

I didn’t take any pictures yesterday with my real camera yesterday (I forgot), so here is an instagram of the most delicious cupcakes! I had a chocolate coconut:)
