A Styled Experience with KNP Gay Wedding Shoot

I’m excited to share a fun project of mine from last year! Last Spring, I hosted a styled wedding shoot for a small group of fellow wedding photographers. Feedback I got from workshops I’ve hosted in the past was that the attendees always really enjoyed the styled shoot portion of the day, so I thought it would be fun to host an event focused on just the shoot!

Throughout all of the planning for my workshop shoots, it’s always been a big priority of mine to have the shoots be more unique than some of the things we typically see at other workshops and shoots in the area. I’ve loved basing the themes and ideas around the shoots on things that really inspire me creatively. From the modern, industrial shoot from the first KNP workshop, to the New Year’s Eve wedding shoot, and the Geometric Romance theme, they’ve always been fun shoots that I felt people would really enjoy participating in!

For the first Styled Experience, I really enjoyed working with a few of my favorite Richmond area wedding vendors on bringing my vision to life for this shoot. I had it on my mind to put together a gay wedding shoot for quite some time…I’m a big proponent for marriage equality and I thought that some of my industry peers who feel similarly passionate about it would love to have some styled images to use in their portfolio to attract more LGBT couples! The shoot, styled by my friends with As You Wish, turned out beautifully!! Scroll through to the end for a full list of vendor credits 🙂
