Amanda + Jordan | Hampton Wedding Photographer

Weddings

October 4, 2012

I kept checking the weather for Saturday, hoping the rain would stay away from Amanda and Jordan’s wedding. I knew they had planned an outdoor reception on the water at Jordan’s parents’ home and that they even chose their ceremony site partly because of all of the beautiful outdoor portrait opportunities nearby. They put their hearts into all of their wedding details and I wanted so badly for the weather to cooperate! I crossed my fingers and hoped with all my heart that it would stay dry. In the end, all of that hope wasn’t quite enough for a bright sunny day, but the rain did stay away just long enough for us to finish portraits and for their reception to remain outdoors! It rained just enough to bring Amanda and Jordan a lifetime of good luck:)

I am so honored to have been a part of this beautiful and well thought out wedding day! I loved all of the handmade touches and the way Amanda cried walking down the aisle to her groom. I teared up several times myself during this special day. Amanda and Jordan, I consider myself lucky to have been your wedding photographer and even more so to be able to call you guys friends. From the bottom of my heart, I love you both and hope you have the BEST life together!

First look time! Amanda and Jordan chose to have their first look at the historic Parade Field on Fort Monroe. It was absolutely beautiful, and because of the less than perfect weather, it was completely deserted and just right for an intimate first look!

These next few are some of my favorite images OF. ALL. TIME. I’m really obsessed with that sign. And I love those people:)

I LOVED Amanda and Jordan’s indie rock wedding playlist!

Loved this cute little lantern! Amanda found it in a “haunted house” the night she first met Jordan. How sweet is that?? I die over details like this. DIE.

It was only natural that Amanda and Jordan had lots of delicious desserts at their reception…Amanda is the wedding coordinator for Frostings, in Richmond!

Also, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to my husband, John and my good friend Annamarie for assisting and second shooting (respectively haha). I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you two!!
