Another Goal

Personal

January 10, 2013

I have always been a big junk food eater. Even when I was little I traded punishments for donuts and snuck bags of chips into my room to savor at night while I read books. I daydream about what I’m going to eat next and plan my days around my meals. I don’t think I will ever be the kind of person who turns down Doritos (and really, what kind of person would do such a thing??)  but lately my body has been telling me it’s time for a change. I just can’t be so sluggish and shoot weddings every weekend…so something has to give!

My goal is probably pretty cliche, especially for this time of year, but I am going to start eating healthier and being more active. I don’t want to be “on a diet”, I want to focus on eating whole, healthy foods that will nourish my body and make me feel good. Instead of counting calories i want to focus on eating good things that dont have a bajillion ingredients. Hopefully these things can taste good too! Yesterday I bought and cooked kale for the first time AND had a smoothie for my afternoon snack instead of kettle chips or candy. It was actually good! Not as good as doritos and a sprite, but I did feel good last night and I woke up with lots of energy this morning!

To keep myself accountable I’m planning on blogging some of my healthy finds that are also taste good enough to appease even a die hard junk foodie like me! If you have any suggestions on things I might like, leave a comment!

Also, this is totally not related to this post, but I am writing up a q&a blog post to share with you guys soon and I’d love to know what questions you guys might have for me! You can ask anything…about photography, business, weddings, or even Lucy! You can leave your questions in the comments here or email them to me at katie@katienesbittphotography.com if you’d prefer to remain anonymous!

Such a great goal! I’m working on this one too so we can help hold each other accountable 🙂 I love that you’re using a ball jar for your smoothie! My grandfather jars his own jams and whenever I run out of the jam I just clean the jar and keep it for that exact purpose!

Hahaha, I think you just described me too…with the junk food part! Good luck with you goal. 😀

  6. I am SO with you! Being on this tour is making my body hate me. I’m surviving on caffeine, sugar, chips and redbull…and getting NO EXERCISE. I have to make some changes and try to eat as healthy as possible while we’re on the road!

  7. Awesome!! I gave up fast food for the month of January! Good luck!

I thought of another question! HOW in the WORLD do you keep up with blog stalking/doing “homework” (i.e. reading/studying magazines, books, how-to’s and things like that)?! My list of blogs is SO long now!!

There are these snacks call Crispeas, or snapeas, or something like that. but they’re actually really good. They’re like super baked pea pods but they have the texture of the hot fries chips. They’re pretty healthy, I could pronounce and understand all of the ingredients, and I could eat an entire bag so easily and not feel one bit guilty about it!
