April seems like a short month, doesn’t it? I know it’s only one day shorter than March was, but I feel like it went by a lot faster than March did…and March flew by for me this year! Wedding season is right around the corner for me, and I know that’s only going to make the next couple of months go by even faster!

April Highlights!

– Having Krista give my blog a little makeover! She tweaked a few things for me, like the fonts, the size of the logo, and a couple of other things. I enjoyed working with her because she’s so detail oriented and has such a great eye! Plus she is incredibly patient, and when you’re picky and neurotic like I can be sometimes, that’s definitely a plus!

– I ran my first race! I started running in 2007 and have been running off and on ever since (mostly when I start to feel my pants getting tighter haha) and I’ve never tried to run in a race before. Last Thursday we drove out to Richmond and participated in the Hardywood Twilight 4 Miler. It was awesome! The route took us through my favorite Richmond neighborhood (past my dream row house, actually!!) and then when we finished, we enjoyed beers and tacos! My two favorite things to put in my stomach:) It was a lot of fun and I’m excited to hopefully run more races this year! Including that marathon that I was talking about.

– Wearing shorts. April has been pretty warm…so I’ve been wearing A LOT of shorts. Shorts are my favorite. Don’t hate!

What I’m looking forward to in May:

– Wedding season! Two of my 2013 couples were winter weddings this year, but the rest of my couples get married mostly within the “official” wedding season. May is going to be crazy! I have six weddings starting Saturday!

– Our second wedding anniversary! To celebrate, we are having anniversary pictures done, by the famous and talented Katelyn James!! We’re SUPER EXCITED because we love Katelyn and we can’t wait to have pictures done by her. My friend Amanda is going to be helping me with a special prop that I’m really pumped about!

– My first concert. I wrote on the blog a while back that I’d never been to a concert before and lamented the fact that I missed my favorite band, Band of Horses the last time they played nearby…but they are going to be in Norfolk this May and I will be there! I’m really excited my first real concert experience is going to be a band I really love!

1. We went on a boat! With my camera!
2. It was warm enough to go to the beach one day and I took advantage of it!
3. Lucy hops inside of drawers if you don’t close them right away. She’s cute though, so I couldn’t be mad at her!
4. My friend Amanda and I did a styled shoot! And she made mini pies for them! IN JARS. That pie was such a nice treat after working hard all day!
5. Speaking of working hard…I had two free beers after running my first race!
6. I printed some instagrams via Prinstagram…and instagrammed them.

1. I laid my new clothes on the table to show them to John…the cat hopped up and made them her bed.
2. I no longer have to scramble for change at tolls! Woo hoo:)
3. Cheesecake is an acceptable brunch food, right?
4. My friends Jen and Josh at Jen and Ashley’s promo video launch!
5. My date to previously mentioned promo video launch party:)
6. My PRECIOUSSSS. I bought a new camera!

1. Searched long and hard for these chips all over town and John finally found me some!
2. Funnel cake fries. No other description necessary.
3. Driving across the Bay Bridge near Annapolis. SCARY. I wasn’t driving, by the way:)
4. Posing with a Hokie bird at Virginia Tech! One of my favorite schools to visit!
5. I discovered Sheetz this month and I love it!! I want them to open one closer to me!
6. I64…My second home.
