Although winter isn’t the most popular time to do portraits or engagement sessions, lately I’ve discovered that I really love shooting this time of year. No, I don’t love cold weather, but besides this week, we usually have pretty mild winters in Virginia and there’s just something about the light this time of the year that’s pretty magical…maybe it’s the way that the light streams through the empty tree branches…or maybe it’s just how quiet everything seems? I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m not going to question it…I love it!

Ashley and Rilee were in town over the holidays, so we got together with them to shoot their session in Richmond.. They were so much fun to spend the afternoon with!! Here are a few of my favorites from their session!
