February – A review in Instagrams

February 28, 2013

I was looking back through my Instagram posts and realized that I’ve been posting these reviews for a year now! How crazy is that? When I think about how much things have changed since I started these posts, I’m blown away. A year ago I was just getting through every day hoping that one day maybe in a couple years I could go full time with my business…and now I’ve been a full time photographer for EIGHT months!

February Highlights

  • Meeting my 2013 booking goal! I actually ended up exceeding my goal for this year which was so exciting. I’m really excited about this wedding season! I have so many great couples to work with this year and I know it’s going to be a fun year:) I’m still accepting a couple more weddings for this year, but not too many more than that, so definitely email me if you’re interested!
  • I also booked the sweetest 2014 couple this month! Besides the fact that I am excited and relieved to know my business will live on one more year, I am also over the moon these two decided to book because they’re the fun type of couple that I consider ideal clients. Ideal clients are generally just people who love photography, love my work, and are people I could and would want to become friends with! Can’t wait to spend time hanging out with them!
  • MY TEAM WON THE SUPER BOWL!!
  • Our five year “living together” anniversary. Five years ago on Super Bowl Sunday we were both basically still kids who were starting to fall in love…that process sped up quickly when John moved into my apartment after his was broken into. At the time he was supposed to look for somewhere else to live because he was going to move home to Maryland when he finished school…but he ended up never leaving and we were married a little over three years later! The longer we stay together, the more I love him. He’s my best friend!

What’s next in March:

  • WPPI!!!!!!! In ten days I’ll be heading out to Vegas for the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International convention. Every year thousands of photographers go to network, participate in classes, and see the tradeshow. This is my first time and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to hang out with friends, meet new people, and most of all, EAT AT ALL OF THE BUFFETS.
  • Springtime. I know this might seem like it’s silly to be excited enough about spring to include it in this list, but I love spring (except for the allergies) and I’m ready for it to get here! I can’t wait for more sunlight, Reese’s Easter eggs, and 70 degree days.

I know that’s only two highlights I’m looking forward to in March, but the reality is WPPI is such a huge one for me because I wasn’t even sure if I would be able to go this year! I have been wanting to go pretty much since I became a photographer and I am SO PUMPED. Beyond.

Back when I did my survey, one of my lovely survey takers suggested that I add info about what the Instagrams in these posts actually are so they’re more interesting to look at…I loved that suggestion (thank you, friend!) so this month’s post has little captions for each picture!
