Though I only live about an hour from the beach, I hardly ever have the opportunity to shoot there! I seem to mostly travel to Richmond and northern Virginia/Maryland for my sessions and weddings, (which I love!) so it was so exciting when Ashley emailed me about shooting their engagement session in Virginia Beach!

It was hot and sticky all day, but it cooled down just in time for the session to start. We started out at First Landing State Park, which is so awesome if you’ve never been! There were lots of great old trees with spanish moss hanging off of them…it feels so southern!  John and I had a great time hanging out with Ashley and Bill and getting to know them both! They had so many fun ideas for their session and their outfits were just perfect! I wish every session was this much fun to shoot!

Before we went to the beach we stopped for a few portraits at this awesome little chapel on Fort Story!
