Long weekend recap

As promised yesterday, here’s a recap of our long weekend trip! Friday morning we got up early and met Josh and Shea at the beach for their engagement session! They were such troopers for getting up so early!!  We had fun meeting them and hanging out a little bit, and as always the sunrise light was just so beautiful!

After we wrapped the session we took naps (much needed) and then headed into NYC for the day! Our first stop was by Peanut Butter and Co for John, who loves pb. Peanut Butter and Co is really cool…they sell their PB all over the country but their shop in NYC is basically a little deli that serves all of these fun peanut butter sandwiches with carrot sticks and glasses of milk! I actually learned pretty recently that I’m allergic to peanut butter (and carrots, coincidentally) so I just had a lemonade…But after we left Peanut Butter and Co we went to this fun little eatery in Greenwich Village and sat outside and ate and drank $5 mojitos. It was so nice! The weather was so perfect and Greenwich Village is so much fun. Definitely one of my favorite areas of the city and such a change of pace from the craziness of the busier midtown, which is the only place in NYC I’d ever really been before this weekend!

Saturday we went to a nearby diner for breakfast and then headed out to Long Branch to shoot Shea and Josh’s wedding. We had such a great time with them! Their wedding had such a fun and laid back vibe and included a bonfire on the beach!! That was one of my favorite parts of the day! Can’t wait to share more with you guys soon!

Sunday we went back into the city for the day. We walked the Brooklyn Bridge (which was only slightly treacherous for someone afraid of heights) and then ate pizza at Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn. Let me just warn anyone who’s never been across the Brooklyn Bridge but might be planning on it….subway yourself to Brooklyn and maybe hang out there and THEN cross the bridge back into Manhattan instead of vice versa…the view from Brooklyn was pretty amazing!! Also, if you go to Grimaldi’s, get take out! The line is really long. Really long.

Here are a few of my favorite instax from our trip! If you don’t know what instax are, they’re basically like polaroids! Except they’re tiny! Credit card sized!! It’s so much fun go through all of these tiny little pictures of memories we made throughout our trip!

All in all we had a really great weekend! It’s so amazing the opportunities that my job has given me to travel and go on all kinds of adventures! It was kind of funny that this particular adventure happened on my one year self employment anniversary because it just reminded me even more how amazing what I get to do is! I’m feeling so lucky and so thankful to do what I do:)
