Lately, things have been kind of crazy in our household. With dealing with the aftermath of the flood and all of the money it drained from our wallets, both John and I have been much more stressed than usual. The only thing that has kept us sane is trying to keep our life as normal as we can. We love movie nights at home, but by now we’ve seen most of the new releases and sometimes struggle when it comes to finding new movies we BOTH want to watch. I’m not sure which one of us had our latest great idea, or if maybe we started doing this by accident, but over the summer and into this first couple weeks of fall we have been enjoying movie marathons of “older” movies that we never had a chance (or in my case wasn’t allowed to watch ha) to see when they originally came out. It started with the Matrix and has worked it’s way into Ocean’s Eleven, the Jason Bourne series, National Treasure 1 & 2, and most recently, Bad Boys.

My other favorite thing right now? Sriracha!! Not too long ago John and I both had pho for the first time ever…it was actually an accident. I wanted Panera, but it was already closed. The pho place happened to stay open until ten so we said, why not?, and went in. It was there that I was introduced to the new love of my life….Sriracha! I’m so obsessed…how can one sauce be so flavorful and delicious? I want to put it on everything I eat! Now all I can think about is how I’m ready to rent another old movie and eat popcorn…with sriracha on it. YUM.

I think throughout this entire ordeal the most important thing I have learned is that every reaction and attitude you have is a choice. You can choose to be negative and dwell on all of the awful things that have come your way, or you can be positive and look for the good in every situation.  So for now, I’m working hard to enjoy the beauty in each day, as well as taking  joy from small things like sriracha and watching old movies on the couch.

Last night John and I went out to Richmond for Sirena and Derek’s engagement session! These two are so much fun to hang out with! Can’t wait to share more from their session later this week:)
