Orange and Teal Baby Shower Inspiration

Personal

Today’s post is something a little bit different from what I might normally post about, but I thought it would be fun to share! Who doesn’t love fun party inspiration? Well…I guess there are people out there who aren’t interested in cute details…but they probably aren’t regular visitors of a wedding photographer’s blog, so I think I’m okay;)

Our friends are having a baby this fall! They are over the moon excited to be welcoming a little baby boy into their family in October! I have been wanting one of my friends to get pregnant for some time now so I could plan a baby shower! I’m embarrassed to admit that one of my favorite and most pinned to boards on pinterest is actually my baby board despite the lack of pregnancy on my part as well as the lack of trying for said pregnancy. Is this something like pinning for your wedding before you’re dating somebody? Haha. Are there any other premature pinners out there? I know it can’t just be me!

Anyway…premature pinning aside, even before my friend got pregnant I was dreaming about throwing this baby shower. I had actually been pinning ideas for it for a little while and picked out a gender neutral turqouise and orange backyard bbq theme! My friends are very laid back and a couples bbq shower really suits them just perfectly!

The idea is a laid back picnic at the park with some rustic touches (like bamboo silverware and possibly bamboo plates if I can find them somewhere for a reasonable amount of $$), bright pops of color, and some fun textures and patterns. I love the idea of cactuses and succulents as centerpieces and maybe a chevron backdrop for a photobooth! I also found wood pencils like in the image below at Marshalls of all places! I’m excited to be using those for a special little surprise:)

I can’t wait for this party and to share it with you guys here on the blog afterward!!

LOVE this inspiration! and premature pinning is DEFINITELY a thing! I had several wedding boards, a marriage board and a kid board before I was even engaged… oops! 🙂
