Summer Bucket List – 2014

Personal

June 10, 2014

Summer is one of my favorite seasons (okay, so there are only four, I like all of them but Winter), which is partly because I have a summer birthday, so it’s always meant I had something to look forward to, other than just being out of school for a couple of months. I have so many good memories of summers past…from crabbing with my grandparents and cousins, to week long family vacations to the beach, Summer has always been full of great times, and good eats. There’s just something about the start of summer that feels so hopeful and never-ending…I love it!

Since Summer is actually one of my busiest times, and you know, being an adult means you don’t have as much free time, I’ve started to try to make a conscious effort to make plans to enjoy summer instead of just watching it pass by and then realizing in September there were all these fun things I wanted to do that I can’t do for another year. So, here’s my summer bucket list!

The Stable at Bluemont Vineyard Wedding Photography_0090

  • Go crabbing
  • Eat crabs (you knew that was going to have to be on here!)
  • Winery tour of Charlottesville wineries/breweries
  • Go tubing
  • See a concert
  • Pick peaches
  • Bake a pie (maybe with peaches??)
  • Have a picnic
  • See fireworks
  • Eat a corn dog/festival food
  • Take a day trip to OBX
  • Go to a festival
  • Ride bikes at the oceanfront
  • Kayaking
  • Go to a drive in movie
  • Start training for my second half marathon

That’s it for my list this year! I’m definitely looking forward to making lots of fun memories over the next few months! What about you guys…any of these things on your summer bucket lists?

Love your list, I should probably make one myself. 😀 But it’s going to be a busy summer!! 🙂

Love this list and I couldn’t agree more with how easy it can be to let summer slip by as a wedding photographer! It’s the busy season.. but I love reminding myself that I can work from anywhere (like today, in Florida!) – – so taking advantage of that during the week has been great!

When you go on your winery tour go to King Family Vineyard, I was a guest at a wedding there last weekend, and it is gorgeous, try and go when they have a polo match! oh and delicious wine!

I second this! King Family is amazing, plus it is within 5 minutes of Pollak Vineyards (our favorite!) and Blue Mountain Brewery (which is just the best).

  4. I need to get on this! Totally agree that we have to make a conscious effort to do these things otherwise they won’t happen!

  5. This is such a fun list! I hope you get a chance to check everything off, it will make for a memorable summer! xoxo!

  6. I’ll need to join you on the winery tour please! 😉
