Taking a day off

For me, one of the hardest parts of being self employed has been giving myself permission to take a day off. In my mind, I’m the one who is responsible for running my business, so if I’m off, nothing is getting done. And there is ALWAYS more that can be done. If I take an entire day off from work, I often feel guilty or like my business is going to fail. The reality is, if I don’t take time off from time to time, THAT is when my business is more likely to fail. I will end up burned out and exhausted and hating life. I never want to crave a full time office job because of those dependable two days off.

So, I have decided I will schedule my days off on my calendar! That makes it much more legit and official! I also realized that I forgot that working Monday-Friday AND shooting a wedding on Saturdays is a lot of work…for anyone. So on a wedding week I will take a weekday off!

Today I will actually be taking half of the day off because it’s John’s birthday! We are going to PF Changs for dinner and I am SO EXCITED. I love PF Changs…especially the pan fried noodles and egg drop soup!

Before I go, here is a peek at my session yesterday afternoon…these two will be getting married TOMORROW! Can’t wait:)
