I have been feeling super stressed and burned out the past few days. Mostly because it’s been such a busy season so far and running two businesses, training for a half marathon, and planning a workshop for the fall have been making things a little crazier than normal. Don’t get me wrong, I love being busy, and I’m so glad I get to do all of the things I’m doing…but my life has just been lacking a little bit of balance. If my life was a teeter totter, I would be sitting on the work end with no one/nothing on the life end to even things out. Maybe Lucy, but she doesn’t weigh much;)

Last night some loose prints that I ordered last week arrived, and as I sat on the floor looking through them, it was like getting a reality check. I remembered that I’m so lucky to be able to do what I do. To be able to capture so many amazing moments for my couples…to be able to tell their stories through images and document the moments that will become part of their history together is such an amazing privilege. While sifting through a pile of prints of gorgeous details and some incredibly romantic couple portraits, I also realized that the pictures that really stood out were the ones that captured some kind of moment. Unlike the details, the bridal party pictures, and the posed stuff, etc, these pictures evoke emotion because they are so full of JOY. These pictures make me so happy and so grateful to get to do what I do.
