Things I love – March

Uncategorized

March 1, 2013

I’ve thought a lot about whether or not this series would continue this year. It’s not cheap for me to do giveaways every month, and it means another trip to the post office. I hate going to the post office. At the same time, I really like doing these posts. They’re fun! And, I mean, in one post I can share something random about myself and give something back to someone who reads the blog. So for that reason, I’m still going to be doing them…at least for the time being:)

This month I wanted to share one my favorite little Anthropologie finds that’s not only adorable, but super functional as well! The Anthropologie egg crate was something we (okay, I) registered for using Amazon.com’s universal registry (meaning you can use it to register for things from ANY site) for our wedding. My friend and bridesmaid, Melody gave it to us as a wedding present and I’ve been using it to store my earrings ever since! Is it weird that it never really occurred to me to actually use it to store eggs?? I would need at least two of these if I was going to do that…we go through a lot of eggs around here:)

Using the egg crate to store my earrings works really well for me because I’m not a huge jewelry wearer. Since my earrings are all out where I can see them it makes it easier for me to just walk over, pick up a pair, and put them on. I feel like if I had to dig through a jewelry box for a pair, I just wouldn’t wear any!

I also really love using this egg crate because it’s ceramic. And I am super obsessed with ceramic things.

If you’d like your own egg crate (to store eggs, or earrings, or office supplies) all you have to do to enter to win one is leave a comment letting me know what YOU are most looking forward to this March! I’m looking forward to WPPI! Can you tell I’m excited? I’ve mentioned it twice on the blog in two days. Also, not to completely embarrass myself, but I got out my suitcase yesterday and packed one thing. ONE. But I mean, I probably won’t be wearing a sequin dress between now and then, so I figured I was safe:)

Giveaway closes Monday at midnight! Winner will get their choice of egg crate from anthropologie.com.

Ohh using that for earrings is smart! One thing I’m looking forward to March: My family coming to visit my husband and I in Richmond! It’ll be the first time they see our apartment (we got married in October). Now I just have to get up the motivation to make myself clean it.

  4. Sarah says:

You are too cute! I hope you have a blast at WPPI! For March, I’m mainly looking forward to learning and expanding my business! 🙂

  5. Laura says:

What am I looking forward too? Two things: visiting the Edgar Allan Poe museum in Richmond and the first weekend of MARCH MADNESS. My favorite time of the year!

  6. Stephanie says:

I’m looking forward to my bridal shower and bachelorette party! Oh, and warmer weather. And more daylight. 🙂

  7. Dani says:

What an awesome place to store your jewelry!! I am the same way – I wear 2-3 pairs of earrings and that is it – so this would be crazy perfect. I am most looking forward to WEDDINGS!!! I have 3 this month and can’t wait to see a girl in a wedding dress. I’m going through withdrawal. And I am looking forward to going to SXSW next week!!

  8. Ohhh, WPPI. every year I never make it. I probably should just go into debt for it and go.

I’m looking forward to warmer weather, hopefully. We never know where I live. The snow stops in April.

  9. Sarah Der! says:

MARCH!!! Do you even KNOW what I am looking forward to!? Well, I will tell you: I am looking forward to the two weddings I get to shoot. Booking my flight to Austin (for April!). Getting film scans back. Dinners with friends. Eating at Neal’s Deli my fave. Also taking walks in this warmer weather! Possibly petting lots of dogs, depending my luck.

  10. I WANT ONE OF THESE SO BAD! I’m looking forward MOST winding down our crazy adventures and travels that we’ve had over the past few months. I’m excited for some rest and to get geared up for the wedding season ahead…and to dance at Lazers and Blazers.

  11. I am sooo looking forward to my portrait session with you this month! As well as concentrating and expanding my business more! And who can forget about the start of Spring and warm weather?!?

  12. Kyla says:

I am so looking forward to the Easter mini sessions I’m doing and celebrating all the birthdays of my family and friends! March will definitely be a good month to enjoy the people I love! I hope you have a wonderful time at WPPI and you should most definitely be excited about it 🙂

  13. Anna Kerns says:

I have a blue one of these from Anthropologie that I use for jewelry, too! I have never seen anypne else do the same thing, so cool!
This March, I am looking forward to warmer weather and cherry blossoms starting to bloom!

  14. Ellen says:

I’m looking forward to Spring too! I hope it comes soon because I’m tired of cold weather!

  15. Jen Jar says:

Are you kidding me? I AM OBSESSED with that egg crate! I am most looking forward to our buffet conquering at WPPI…duh! Love you <3

  16. Raquel says:

I think I saw this creative egg crate on pinterest recently, and thought how cute! What I’m looking forward to most in March is probably Easter. Oh and also, March Madness 🙂

  17. I’m excited to turn 25 on March 10th! Halfway through my twenties I’ve accomplished so much and yet I have so many more things planned for this year! Dreaming big and making things happen!

  18. Sheaulee Ng says:

I’m most excited for the warmer (or at least slightly) weather so I can take King outside. I just realized how boring I am with my response lol but yes I really want to be outside with him. Since we got him the weekend before Christmas, it’s been way to cold for a <5lb maltipoo to be outside, so he is missing out. Love these posts but I can understand how it can get costly.

  19. Meredith says:

gaahhhhhhhhhh LOVEEEEEE this thing SO much. love anthropologie SO much. In March I am most excited about getting some time off from work for Trey’s Spring Break and a little chance to get away, as well as taking all of my college students on a spring break service trip – so PUMPED for all the craziness that’s happening this month – and hoping that the silly VA weather will decide to warm up soon!

  20. Love the craftiness of storing your earrings in the egg crate! In March, I’m looking forward to starting my branding and web design process, the arrival of Spring, and a secret something that I’m not allowed to mention yet! 😉

  21. Shelly says:

Fellow showiteer- I adore your website, blog and you! Everything is so lovely:) I hope to see you at WPPI.
