One of the best things about off season is having more time to take part in fun projects! During busy season, 9 times out of 10 I have to say no to fun things like styled shoots because I’m too busy taking care of my regular clients. I get totally bummed out when that happens though, because I LOVE shooting them. So when Kat, of Dear Sweetheart Events emailed me to ask if I’d be interested in shooting a styled shoot she designed for the wedding blog Heart Love Weddings, I was thrilled! From her initial email and our interactions on social media up until that point, I knew the shoot would be a ton of fun, and full of pretty things for me to take pictures of!

Kat’s idea for the shoot was a fun Valentine’s day party for girlfriends…she wanted it to be beautiful, but still accessible…something that any girl could look at and think to herself, “hey, I think I can do that!”. From her carefully crafted DIY projects, to the gorgeous florals, I’d say she succeeded! I loved all of the bright and colorful details and how simple they all really were! There are lots of really epic styled shoots put together to inspire brides and grooms, but there aren’t really that many put together to inspire every day life. I loved this shoot because the theming and styling could easily be transferred to a girl’s get together, a bridal shower, baby shower, birthday party, or really anything!
