I had been looking forward to shooting this engagement session for Maureen and Jess ever since they booked me a while back! I remembered them describing the location they had in mind (the family farm where Jess grew up) and thinking it sounded so awesome and so unique to them! When the day of the session finally came, John and I excitedly made our way up to Warrenton through some pretty awful holiday traffic on 95 and then arrived JUST as a storm was blowing through. Seriously…do we have good timing or what?

Luckily the bulk of the storm cleared up shortly after Jess and Maureen finished driving us around the farm to show us around and we were left with this beautiful overcast light! It drizzled on and off for the majority of the session, but Jess and Maureen were both such troopers and did anything I asked them to do in the name of getting good pictures…they even sat on the wet grass!! I love it when clients are willing to trust me and go out on a limb when I ask them to do something crazy like that!! It’s always so worth it!! At least, I think so:)
