Why You Should Consider a Bridal Session

The other night I started an Instagram post about why I think bridal sessions are a really great idea and realized that I had too much to say about them for an IG caption. There are so many trends in the wedding industry (especially related to photography!) but no matter what changes, I think classic bridal portraits are always in style! They tend to be more popular with our more traditional brides, but I think they’re worth considering by everyone. Here’s what makes them so great:

They give you the added benefit of putting time on your side. One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is the “getting ready” portion. There’s so much excited energy and anticipation in the air! Getting ready on your wedding day can be one of the more hectic times of the day though, and it’s the time that’s also most likely to end up running later than you think it will. If you hope to have lots and lots of variety in your bridal portraits, I would highly suggest a bridal session, since you’ll have a dedicated section of time specifically for these photos. It won’t be rushed or stressful, and you can focus on enjoying the session, rather than worrying about getting to the first loo or the ceremony on time! Of course, whether or not you book a bridal session, we’ll work hard to make sure you have a few bridal portraits on your wedding day, but realistically, you’ll have a ton more variety in the photos if you choose a separate session!

They give you a chance to do a trial run with your wedding day look. Most people do a hair and makeup trial before their wedding anyway, but doing that trial the day of your bridal session is a great way to get maximum mileage out of the trial style (rhyme unintentional!) and be sure that you love how the look photographs!

Alternatively, bridal sessions are a great time to style your hair and accessories differently than you might for your wedding day. A great example of that is how Kala wore her hair in loose, romantic waves for her bridal session, but had an elegant up do on her wedding day!

There are a lot of reasons that a bride might choose a bridal session, but those are the top two most common! They’re also the reasons that we recommend our brides consider adding one!

I absolutely LOVE when my brides book bridal sessions! Plus it’s another great way for my brides to get comfortable in front of my camera.
