A Case of the Mondays #15

It feels so good to be blogging again! I missed this! Last Thursday the blog was down completely due to some sort of hacking attempt on my hosting provider and Friday even though it was back up, I couldn’t log in, so I wasn’t able to post anything. I was definitely unhappy about it, but at the end of the day there are going to be all kinds of things you can’t control with business and with life, so it’s best to just try and roll with them. And hey, at least it happened at the end of the week toward the end of my off season rather than at the height of wedding season when someone’s waiting to see their wedding on the blog!

Speaking of wedding season, though I’ve shot two of my couples’ weddings so far this year, my true busy season doesn’t start until the first weekend in May. This weekend I got a taste of what that’s going to be like! I second shot at a wedding on Saturday and then John and I drove north for Allie and Greta’s engagement session on Sunday. To say I’m tired today is probably a little bit of an understatement, but today’s the day we’re shooting the Summer Brunch themed styled shoot, so there’s no time to rest!

Some random things I learned this weekend:

  • Zyrtec makes me drowsy…even when I take it the night before! Saturday I felt like I was in a fog for most of the day, which was kind of unfortunate, but I think I made it through okay!! I have to find something good to help with my allergies!
  • I NEED TO STOP STALLING AND ORDER AN EZ PASS. So, on Saturday, I packed enough cash for one toll…but my route ended up leading me through TWO, so I had to sit in my car frantically digging around for change while the line backed up behind me. I was freaking out! Finally the person behind me felt bad for me or was just ready to move past the toll area so he gave me the change I needed! So embarrassing! But my work takes me through a lot of tolls and I never have cash, so the EZ Pass is just something I need to do!
  • Boats are fun! Allie and Greta love boating, so they took us out on their boat. We shot part of their engagement session on their boat, but then Greta drove us to a little nearby beach where we shot a little more. Neither John and I can swim, so we are definitely intimidated by boats (which is actually kind of funny/ironic since he works for the shipyard…haha) but Allie and Greta have us almost convinced we need our own boat!

Here’s a peek at Allie and Greta’s amazing engagement session! We had so much fun hanging out with them and I can’t wait to share more later this week!

Hope you guys have an awesome Monday!!

Dude. I agree with you about Zyrtec. But it does work super well. Second, I just got an ezpass after saying for about a year that I really needed to get one. Here is the link to your state’s application: https://www.ezpassva.com/CreateAccount/CreateAccountHome.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1, it came in 3 days after I sent in my application and I forgot to put my drivers license number on the app. Not sure how I got away with that.
