Good morning, friends!

If you’re reading this in the morning, I’m probably flying through the sky heading for Chicago and the Turning Tides Retreat! A photographer I follow (Christy Tyler) and a few other photographer ladies are putting on the retreat at a lake house in Michigan! Actually being on this trip right now is a little bit of a whirlwind for me, as I didn’t find out I was going until only a week ago! I was lucky enough to win a “Pay it Forward” seat to the workshop, which made the cost of the plane ticket pretty much a no brainer. Going on a trip like this by myself is really exciting for me, but it’s also a little scary and nerve wracking because I rarely go anywhere outside of the Mid Atlantic region and I’ve only traveled by myself one other time! Despite my nerves, I’m really excited to have the opportunity to participate in this retreat! I think it’s just what I need to refresh and reset for the busy fall ahead:)

Over the weekend we shot our first wedding in a month! Having July off was AMAZING (and we may just give ourselves the same break next year…we’ll see!) but it felt so good to get back at doing what I really love…shooting weddings! Holly and Aaron were married at Wrexham Hall just outside of Virginia! Look for more of their wedding after I return from my trip.

I have blog posts scheduled for the rest of the week, however my internet access may not be the greatest, so I will be responding to emails when I return to Virginia!
