A Case of the Mondays – WPPI Edition!

AHHHH! I’m in Vegas right now…or I will be when you read this. I’m writing today’s post from the airport in between flights just in case I’m too busy or things are too crazy tomorrow. I don’t anticipate things being super crazy, but hey, it’s Vegas so you never know:) Plus, I won’t be able to tell you what happened if it does because what happens here STAYS HERE. Except herpes. (That was a quote from the Hangover before you go thinking I’m creepy…love that movie!)

I think this past weekend was the busiest one I’ve had in a long time…three sessions, time with friends, and a LOT of traveling. We started our weekend by meeting Julia and Sean at sunrise at the Manassas Battlefield for their engagement session. LOVE sunrise sessions! The light is so pretty and soft!

That afternoon we met up with Maureen in Georgetown to take a few headshots for her! I loved the light in this alley…so pretty:)

After we wrapped shooting for the day we went to dinner with our amazing hosts Tina and Mo at this place in Alexandria called Rustico…I knew it was going to be good when Tina sent me the menu earlier in the day, but when I tasted the food I was in heaven! I had a deep fried DEVILED EGG. So good! But seriously, who thinks of these kinds of things?

Before I left for Vegas on Sunday, I took some portraits of Tina, her husband Mo, and their ADORABLE Boston terrier, Rocco in Old Town Alexandria. I LOVED taking pictures of Rocco…seriously he’s such a sweet dog.

Some random things:

  • Air travel is not for me…I just get so motion sick I end up miserable:( After I landed in Denver I went straight to get myself some chicken soup to try to settle my stomach and then debated on whether or not I should try Dramamine.
  • When I landed in Denver I was surprised to see snow…I guess I forgot other places have four real seasons and actually get snow…
  • I ran into Katie Yuen at the airport while I was waiting for my first flight! I was setting up my computer and about to log onto a wifi when I saw there was a “Katie Yuen” wifi and I thought “that’s so weird! I wonder if there’s another person with the same name…” then I looked around and saw her sitting a few feet away! She and her fiance were waiting for their flight to Orlando and we just so happened to be in the same terminal at the same time…how crazy is that?? We sat together until our flights were both called. Totally made my day to see a familiar face when I least expected it!

! The rest of this week I have an awesome group of ladies lined up to share guest posts here on the blog. Hope you guys enjoy their posts! Jen and I are planning to hit the Wynn Buffet today…AND I CAN’T WAIT. If you want to follow along with what I’m up to, check out my instagram @photo_katie.

Have a great Monday everyone!
