A Case of the Tuesdays

I love a nice long weekend, but I can’t say that I really get excited about the Tuesday after…it feels just like a Monday in disguise! This weekend was so much fun! After having a few weeks off as a little summer hiatus, it was fun to get back into the groove of things…with a double header no less!

One of the BEST decisions I’ve ever made for my business was deciding to bring John on as my second photographer/helper/driver/etc. He has been so invaluable to me, especially on long weekends like this one! We literally made our way across the state this weekend for Emily and Tommy’s wedding at Sinkland Farms in Blacksburg, then up to Alexandria for Kala and Alex’s at Mount Vernon Inn. When we left Blacksburg on Saturday night, John was the one who drove us four and a half hours through the night while I culled some of the images from the day and then napped a little to try to rest up for the next day. John is always the one who’s getting my things for me, carrying my heavy bag, grabbing batteries for me, etc. He makes sure I have snacks and everything else I need and is such a good sport about being on his feet for hours and hours at a time! I couldn’t be more thankful for him and all of his help! Having him there makes the weddings so much more fun!

Here’s a peek from Saturday’s wedding! We got to stop by the Blacksburg favorite, Gillies for a hearty breakfast before starting the wedding. I also tried half of a five hour energy shot this day…it was…interesting! I am SO excited to share more of this wedding with you all though…I was in love with the somewhat industrial feel of the venue as well as the colorful details!

And this sneak peek is from Sunday! I was so excited to work with Kala because she is one of my most detail oriented brides…she had everything planned out to the letter to ensure that the photos were great and I loved it!

People ask me how we travel so much for weddings and my answer is really simple: we just make it work. We love to travel and when a wedding gives us an opportunity to visit family and friends, or do something fun like experience a new restaurant or town, we love that! This time in our lives may be really hectic, but it’s been so rewarding and awesome to have a job that takes us so many different places! We are so thankful to have clients who love us so much that they choose to hire us and have us travel to their weddings!

On that note, I’ll leave you guys on this sunny Tuesday morning! (Please note I actually typed Monday and had to go back and delete it…oops!)
