My friend Brandi and I have yet to get to work together on a real wedding, but we did get to collaborate on this absolutely beautiful Safari themed wedding shoot earlier this year! She and I were discussing random shoot ideas we had and I mentioned how I’ve been wanting to shoot a Safari styled wedding. Brandi took the idea and ran with it! She was able to turn a random idea into something beautiful and genuinely unique! I’ve been so lucky to work with lots of awesome people on some really amazing shoots over the past few years (like our New Year’s Eve workshop shoot and Modern Geometric Romance workshop shoot!) and this one was no exception. I really believe that when you put together a styled shoot, it should really be something different and Brandi and the team of vendors who worked together to create this shoot totally knocked it out of the park!!

I think my favorite part of this whole thing (besides photographing Brandi’s work and our hottie pals, We Are the Mitchells) was shooting at the zoo! We photographed this after hours at the Virginia Zoo and it was like having a private tour of the zoo! Plus, did you know you can really get married here? Someone, take this whole shoot and make it your real wedding, please!
