End of Summer Instagram Review

Uncategorized

August 30, 2013

I stopped doing Instagram reviews a while back for a few reasons, but I can’t say I didn’t miss them! It was so much fun to look back through all of my Instagrams every month and reminisce on all of the fun things that I shared on my feed. There’s been a lot of talk about how people only share their “highlights” on Instagram…we never show the arguments with our husbands or when our adorable kitties throw up hairballs at 5am. We don’t post bad things…and I don’t necessarily think that’s wrong or a bad thing at all! I post tons of happy moments in my life on my Instagram not so other people will look at me and be jealous (and seriously, the only thing people should be jealous of is that I got to see BSB this summer) but so I’ll have something to look back on that makes me remember all of the good and positive things that I did/happened to me/I got to eat. The important thing is really just to remember that yes, we all post our highlights (and I mean, do you WANT to see Instagrams of my cat’s hairballs? I doubt it…) but you shouldn’t compare yourself to others based on those little snippets of people’s lives.

Okay…serious business over! I feel like this summer FLEW by! At least, until I started going back through my Instagrams! It was so much fun to look back and remember all of the fun things we got to do…and quite a few of the fun things were courtesy of my job and our amazing clients!

Favorite Summer Moments:
– Going to the Turning Tides retreat. I loved this! It was so out of my element and I learned so many things, like how to swim! I really surprised myself on this trip and I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to be there!
– Seeing BSB in concert! FINALLY. I was seriously in love with Backstreet Boys at age 11-14 and I’m so happy I finally got the chance to see them live. I wasn’t sure if it would be a good time, or what to expect, but it was AMAZING. Definitely one of the top 5 best nights of my entire life…you think I’m kidding but I’m dead serious.
– Traveling. We went so many places this summer! I had the opportunity to shoot in three different states, take a mini vacay in New York City, and I visited a bunch of friends throughout the East coast!
–  Seafood. I love seafood, and there’s nothing better on a summer night than a seafood feast and an ice cold beer. Maybe the only thing better would be finishing up this meal with watermelon or key lime pie? At any rate, I’ve been eating seafood almost every opportunity I can get, including my favorite, CRABS!! (It’s an anagram for my other favorite food category…CARBS!)

What I’m looking forward to in fall

– Weddings! I’m so pumped for the weddings coming up! Some amazing people are getting married and I can’t wait to be there to see it and capture it as it happens.
– Apple picking & the state fair. I’ve been wanting to do this for a few years now, but I’m going to make it happen for real this year! I used to go to the fair every year as a kid and I miss it! Nothing says fall like a plate of fried fair food!
– Wearing layers. Do I need to elaborate??
Envision. So pumped to be a part of this amazing workshop! And it’s at an amazing beach home in Rehoboth!
– Candles, hoodies, bonfires (hopefully), football, playing vinyl with the windows open, post wedding cookout milkshakes, running in crisp fall air, comfort food, the leaves changing, etc.

Here are a few of my favorite Instagrams from the past summer!
