For Photographers: The Checklist

Business

January 4, 2013

Today’s my first day back in the office after holiday vacation and I’m already so sad Christmas is over:( How does it go by so fast???  Since I’m busy today preparing for my first 2013 wedding (yay Becca and Matt!!), I thought I would share with you guys my new wedding day items checklist. Last year I struggled with forgetting things (it was always something small, but something I wished I had with me) so I decided to write out a physical checklist to go over both the day before the wedding AND the morning of before I leave. You know that feeling you get when you know you’re forgetting something but you can’t remember what? I don’t want that to happen to me this year! I’m sure this list will probably change as the season goes on, but for now I think this is a good start and for the most part everything on the list is something I have to have.

Wedding day checklist:

Shooting bag (Kelly Moore):

  • Main camera body
  • Getting ready lenses (50 1.2 & 35 1.4)
  • Formatted CF cards
  • Client File (with timeline/contract/contact info/etc)
  • Extra camera battery
  • Business cards
  • Gum
  • Snack
Pelican Case:
  • Backup camera body
  • CF card reader
  • Portable external hard drive
  • Additional lenses
  • Battery charger
  • Laptop & charger
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Flashes
  • Flash batteries
  • Emergency kit (super glue, safety pins, bobby pins, band aids, aleve, etc)
Car:
  • Bottled water
  • Extra Snacks
  • Extra outfit (you never know!)
  • Comfy shoes
  • Light stand
  • Nice hanger (in case the bride forgot to get one)
  • Umbrella (hoping to buy a clear bubble umbrella this year!!)
  • GPS/driving directions
So there’s my list! Do any of you guys have a list you use? What’s on yours? Sidenote: Can’t wait for these two to get married tomorrow!!

Good idea….I should definitely make one of these for myself!

  2. Brea says:

Which Kelly Moore bag do you use? I have the Juju for carrying all of the “extra” gear (flashes, big lenses, etc.) and then my B-Hobo holds the main body, macro lens, 35mm and 50mm for getting ready, swap the 35 for 85 for portraits.
