After shooting almost 130 weddings, you’d think that it might start getting kind of old. That couldn’t be farther from the truth though, and I’ll tell you why…it’s because of couples like Mary and Simon, who are just so head over heels in love. Getting to witness two people who are so deeply in love, who are best friends like John and I are, become husband and wife is something that is just so special! Every wedding day is unique and I LOVED this one! Mary’s mom, Lisa, planned everything out so perfectly that the only small hiccup was running just a few minutes late after hair and makeup…but there was so much portrait time for us, we made up for it by taking lots of photos before AND after the ceremony! It rained just enough to bring good luck to the newlyweds and stopped right when we needed to do photos.

I loved the sweetness of this wedding, the focus Mary and Simon put on sharing the day with their family and friends, and all of the ways they made their day one to remember. I’ll never forget their sweet vows or how there wasn’t a dry eye in the church when they read them to one another. And Dalhgren Chapel and Georgetown University couldn’t be a better place for wedding photos!! I could have shot portraits there all day long!

Mary and Simon had one of the sweetest first looks I’ve ever seen!! Neither of them had any idea what the other was going to be wearing since Simon picked his own suit…their reactions were priceless!

I also loved that they walked into the ceremony together! How adorable and unique!!

Just before our time together ended, the sun came out! What a perfect ending, right?? We snuck outside for just a few sunset photos. I love that they’ll have the best of both worlds (clean, overcast light and a warm sunset!) in their wedding day images!

Congrats again, guys!! It was such an honor to be a part of your wedding day!!
