Highlights – February 2019

Personal

March 11, 2019

Can you believe March is here? I realized today that I still haven’t put together my “best of” post for 2018 and we’re already three months into 2019! I’m putting it on my list of goals for the month to finally tackle that post.

February flew by in flash…most of my work month was spent working behind the scenes on tax prep and other fun and exciting tasks (ha!!) and much of my personal life was spent running. And running. And running some more as I wrapped up training for my third marathon.

Here’s a peek into what I was up to in February! If you missed January’s highlight, you can see it here!

February Highlights:

Sarah and Chris were featured in Washingtonian! I loved Sarah and Chris’s wedding (it helps that they’re friends of mine and that Sarah is a fellow photographer…) and it was so fun to see it featured on this blog!

I ran a 10 miler and wrapped up marathon training. I’ve run several different races, but never a 10 miler before. It seemed pretty short and quick since I was right in the middle of wrapping up marathon training during February but man, was it ever windy! It was one of the toughest races I’ve ever run due to 25 mph wind gusts near the water, but I enjoyed doing it with a group of friends!

Photographed some amazing designs at A Crystal Clear Event. I was pumped to be asked to take part in this event…it was such a treat to get to photograph the work of some really talented vendors.

Celebrated Valentine’s Day. I’m a sucker for a reason to celebrate (which is yet another reason I’m in the right profession, right??) and I love cheesy holidays like Valentine’s Day. My boyfriend and I celebrated with dinner and with very “30-something” gifts. I gave him a nice chef’s knife for chopping vegetables and he gave me a new pair of running shoes. I also baked some heart shaped cookies, which turned out pretty well!

What I’m looking forward to in March:

My first weddings of the year. I’m photographing both an elopement and a full wedding day coverage.

My third marathon. By the time you read this, I’ll have run my THIRD marathon!! I’m really excited about this race and I can’t wait to share about how it went 🙂

Running the NYC Half. Two weeks after the marathon I’ll be traveling to New York to run the New York City Half Marathon! I entered the lottery on a whim last fall not thinking I would get in, which of course meant that I got a surprise email letting me know I was officially registered! I’m looking forward to a fun weekend in the city, and of course, getting to run the race. I’ve never run a big city race before so this will be something new for me!

SPRING! Warmer weather! Well, hopefully. I’m really looking forward to being able to buy new patio plants and spend time enjoying the outdoors again!

That’s about it for me this Monday morning! Today I’m heading to Leesburg for an engagement session…hope you guys have a productive week!
