It’s finally here! The updated Katie Nesbitt Photography!! (Be sure to view it on both mobile and desktop!!)

I am so excited to share this new version of my website with you guys!

Having a custom site has really been a business game changer for me. Before I had a real site with galleries and pages and all of that fancy stuff, I had a little WordPress blog with just a customized template that I bought from an Etsy designer.

Back then, it was important to me to look the part even though I was mostly working the “fake it til you make it” thing pretty hardcore. Although I’d started the business while I was living paycheck to paycheck working a job I really didn’t love, I knew investing early in a legit, custom website was going to be the thing that would create the biggest impact. To this day, I’d recommend this tactic to almost anyone who’s starting a new business…before you buy gear (you can rent most of what you need if you have to…), before you spend a ton on marketing and whatever else, have an amazing, official website for people to go to when they find you. I guarantee you this will be money well spent!!

In the time since I have had my amazing website (by the talented Three Fifteen Design, who I’ve worked with ever since the first version of my site) I have worked with over 100 fantastic couples who were a great fit for me, my business, and my photography style. I have no doubt that her hard work creating a site that represented me and my vision as a photographer helped facilitate this!

In honor of today’s launch, here’s a look back at my very first website. Back then it seemed very important to set myself apart by showing a lot of the quirky personality that makes me “Katie”.

The second version of the site, Katie Nesbitt Photography 2.0 was slightly more polished (but still with a hint of the Katie-ness that made the first site so great!) and focused more on showing off my work. I threw a party to celebrate this launch, which was one of my favorite memories from my business…getting to thank many of the people who had supported me over the years was so special!

This third version of the site is pretty similar to Katie Nesbitt 2.0. I’ll call it Katie Nesbitt 2.5.

I’m super pumped about how it turned out and I’m loving the Showit 5 platform just as much as I loved the old version:) It’s super user-friendly and it’s easy for me to make my own updates and switch up things in my galleries without having to do any coding at all!!

All that fun stuff aside, I can’t let this day go by without a little mini celebration…today is my SEVEN YEAR business anniversary!!

My business anniversary always makes me feel incredibly sentimental because sometimes this whole thing still feels so surreal! I almost have to pinch myself when I realize that I get to wake up and have this career…this career that I used to dream about every single day that I went to my old 9-5 job!

Over the past seven years I’ve had a ton of amazing experiences as a photographer (blog post on some of my favorite memories coming tomorrow!!) but I couldn’t let today pass without a thank you to each and every one of the people who I’ve met over the past 2,555 days through this business…especially the ones who have let me into their lives as a part of their weddings and other memories. This means so much to me!
