I knew as soon as I met Samantha and Vernon a couple weeks ago they were going to be so much fun to work with! They are both hilarious and both have the best sense of humor…I was seriously cracking up the whole time we were shooting their engagement session! We met up in Old Town Alexandria at sunrise for a chilly, but fun session. Sunrise is the perfect time to shoot somewhere like Old Town…it’s deserted and the light is so soft and pretty! Samantha and Vernon both had some great ideas for their session and even brought some fun props to incorporate like fake snow! Samantha is from Canada and wanted a snowy engagement session, but since Virginia weather is so unpredictable, they brought their own!

I love how playful these are, while still being chic! I’ve had an unexpected number of winter engagement shoots, and I know how challenging it can be to keep the shoot fun even when it’s cold! If it weren’t for that pretty red coat, I wouldn’t have known this was in January! These are gorgeous!
