If I were to describe what Kelly and Wes’ wedding day was like with only one word, I think I would use the word FUN. The entire day was filled with such fun, excited energy…especially the dance party at the reception! That was one of my favorite parts of the day!
Their wedding was also the perfect example of why it makes so much sense to do a First Look…we got tons of portraits in of just Kelly and Wes before we headed from the Inn, where they got ready, to their venue, the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. It was perfect timing because it began to rain shortly after we arrived at the venue. I kept an eye out on the conditions for the rest of the evening and we were able to take advantage of a tiny little sliver of time when we snuck out for a few more portraits, but I was thankful we had the opportunity to get the majority of their photos done earlier in the day so Kelly and Wes could relax and enjoy the party instead of stressing about the weather. I can’t tell you enough how much flexibility doing a first look gives you when the weather is so unpredictable!!
I loved how laid back and fun that Kelly and Wes are and could have photographed their dance party all night! This was truly a joyous day and I’m so glad they chose me to be a part of it! Enjoy a few of my favorite images!

This wedding was so beautifully captured, Katie! I also LOVE the soft tones of the outdoor portraits both at the garden at the Inn and along the grounds of CBBC. SO gorgeous.
