Richmond Engagement Photos | Lisette + Graham

The one thing that is craziest about October? It’s not only busy wedding season, it’s also engagement session season too! I have been so excited about finally meeting some of our 2018 couples in person, especially Lisette and Graham! Lisette is a friend of a good friend of mine, so I knew I was going to love working with her…she and Graham were so much fun at their session. I’m sure the wedding is going to be a blast!

Although it hasn’t felt like Fall very often this past couple of months, the day of Lisette and Graham’s engagement session was the first one that truly felt like the seasons were changing! I met them at the Capitol, where Lisette used to work, and then we headed over to Maymont! Fun fact about their photos: we shot them at the brightest part of the day!! I will have to blog sometime about how I did this!

Here are a few favorites 🙂

Charlottesville Wedding Sneak Peeks (and more!)

Oh, October. Although it doesn’t quite feel like Fall outside, you can definitely feel the Fall vibes here in my office! Fall is the busiest time of year for me (second only to Spring and Early Summer), so I’ve been spending a ton of time shooting and even more time at my computer working on some exciting things!!

Here are a few previews of some things you can look forward to seeing here on the blog very soon!!

Catherine and Kevin’s Panorama Farms was a favorite of mine!! They’re such a pair of sweethearts…and I loved how they included so many personal touches througout their wedding day!

Lisette and Graham’s engagement session at the Capitol and Maymont was a treat!! I don’t shoot a lot of sessions in brighter part of the day, but look how beautiful and sunkissed these photos are! I’m also planning a blog post talking about how to photograph a session in harsher sunlight with great results, so stay tuned for that 🙂

For Karen and Dave’s engagement session, we were treated to a tour of their venue (a historic riverboat!!) before we began. John and I had so much fun chatting with the two of them and exploring Old Town Alexandria together!

Last night I had the honor of working with a photographer friend, Sarah and her fiance Chris at their engagement session at the Boar’s Head Inn!!! I can’t even tell you how excited I am for their wedding in a couple of weeks!

To add to all of the shooting and behind the scenese work I’ve been doing lately, I’ve also been preparing for my THIRD half marathon, which I’m running with a friend who is a first-time half marathon-er! I don’t know why I always think it’s a great idea to add training for a race to a busy season for my business, but I’m excited!! If you’ll be in the Richmond area on November 11th you should come cheer us on!

I hope that your week has started out great so far!! I’m off to finalize some edits and get an album design out to one of our Fall clients today!!

Stone Tower Winery Wedding | Erin + Greg

Burgundy and Rose Gold Sunset Fall Wedding at Stone Tower Winery

There were so many things to love about Erin and Greg’s wedding last week. First of all, who doesn’t love a Friday wedding?? I think they are the best because they let you spend the rest of the weekend celebrating!! Their venue, Stone Tower Winery, is also one of my favorite wineries! You can’t beat the views. The entire place is photogenic, which makes it a photographer’s dream 🙂

Besides the beautiful florals and all of the touches of rose gold, my favorite thing about Erin and Greg’s big day was how much love surrounded them all day! Their friends and family traveled from all over to be a part of their wedding! I loved that.

All in all, this was such a beautiful day!! The photos tell the story so much better than I could! Here are some favorites!!

Stone Tower Winery Wedding Sneak Peeks

This past weekend was probably one of the CRAZIEST wedding weekends of my entire career as a wedding photographer! I’ve done a ton of double headers in the past (even some spanning multiple states!) but this is the first time I’ve ever been a part of THREE wedding days in a row!!

We started the weekend on Friday at the beautiful Stone Tower Winery (one of my favorite wineries!!) with Erin and Greg’s wedding! I can’t wait to share more of their photos soon…it was such a perfect day, coordinated by A Beyoutiful Fete Events and Design!!

Here are a couple peeks:

Saturday and Sunday I helped a couple of my friends by playing second shooter at their weddings in DC!! I LOVE DC weddings and both of these were a ton of fun to be part of.

I’m moving a little slower this morning (although, I am still admittedly headed to a deadlift workout here in a few minutes….I’m crazy, I know!!) but thank you for having patience with me while I was slower to respond to messages over the weekend!! I’ll taking the rest of today off to get some rest and will answer everything tomorrow!! Happy Columbus day!!

King Family Vineyards Wedding | Bari + Kyle

Although it’s hard to believe that Fall is here (where did 2017 go??), I’ve been looking forward to working with our Fall couples like Bari and Kyle for months and months! I was so excited for their King Family Vineyards wedding to arrive!! King Family is one of my FAVORITE venues to work at, so I knew this was going to be a beautiful day.

Bari and Kyle worked so hard to make sure that their wedding was not only a beautiful reflection of their love for one another, but also an incredible experience for all of their guests. They took such good care of everybody all day and then threw the biggest dance party ever to close out the night! I don’t think I ever saw either one of them without a smile on their face!!!

This was definitely one for the memory books! Enjoy a few of my favorite images 🙂

Digging up their bourbon! It must have worked, because we had a beautiful day!! It was PERFECTLY overcast, which is wonderful for photos!!

I LOVED the cut out detail on the bridesmaid’s gowns!!
